How can we grow profitably without the right suppliers? – This question raised by Tim Cook in 1998 is still faced by current leaders in today’s digital business world. It is challenging to face disruption and competition and select the right suppliers who can grow with the business.
Strategic Sourcing is increasingly important, and its divergence from the purchasing function, which is more operationally focused, has become noteworthy. It has subsumed into the top strategic leadership focus areas in recent times.
This program aims to bring the dimensions of variability, uncertainty, and risk exposure that businesses face today and help participants understand how strategic sourcing helps mitigate losses and create the foundation for sustainable growth.

PROF PROCYON MUKHERJEE

Prof Procyon Mukherjee has held transformational roles in procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, operations planning, integration, strategic sourcing, logistics, cost and waste reduction, and sustainability. He is a visiting faculty at SIU, consulting lead in supply chains and circular procurement, and author of ‘The Search for Value in Supply Chains’.
He was a designated senior leader at LafargeHolcim. He held the position of Head Performance Management Group & Chief Procurement Officer - India (overseeing 35 plants) and was a member of the Executive Committee at ACC & Ambuja Cement. He was integral to the strategy formulation team at ACC & Ambuja Cement and was a Global Procurement Council member.
He also held senior leadership roles at Aditya Birla, Hindalco, Belur & Mouda, and Novelis. He has received several awards and had the ‘Top Voice of LinkedIn’ title in 2016 and 2017.
He was a keynote speaker at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Vinod Gupta School of Business, IIT KGP, SP Jain Institute of Management, Balaji Institute of Modern Management, SIOM, Goa Management Institute, and several other prestigious institutions.
